So what is an elastic IP in AWS, Simply it is a public ip v4 address that allows connectivity to your services
How do we configure
First navigate to the VPC home page
https://eu-west-2.console.aws.amazon.com/vpc/home
On the VPC menu page select the Elastic IP option from the left hand menu bar
Keep the defaults and select allocate to generate the public IP
